Atlantic.net G2.1GB Promo Server Benchmark

Atlantic.net gives away free servers to new users along with free 50GB Block Storage for a whole 1 year. Free is free and we cannot let it pass through right before our eyes just like that.

We decided to sign up for an account there and spun up a server. You’ve read the title. Yup, we are going to share the benchmark results of various server test scripts available to see how the Atlantic.net cloud server performs.

The promo event only allows you to spin up the G2.1GB cloud server with the following specifications:

  • CPU: 1 vCPU
  • RAM: 1 GB
  • Disk: 40 GB SSD
  • Term: On-Demand
  • Transfer (monthly bandwidth): 3072 GB
  • IP address: 1 IPv4
  • Get it free here (1 year only).

We chose to deploy our cloud server at New Jersey (USA East Coast) datacenter.

#1 – Yet Another Benchmark Script (YABS)

A script by MasonR, a member of LowEndTalk community. The script performs three main tests: DD, iperf3, and GeekBanch 4. Here’s the result:

#3 – FreeVPS.US Script

This script is phenomenal and is used by many regencies. However, when we wanted to test it, the main website is not accessible. Alternatively, we used the same exact script hosted by ServerBench.
